Since our launch in 2019, Poppy Muse has supported the foster youth community in many ways:
Developing Health and Wellness, Career Development, and Finance programs for foster youth and young adults, in partnership with group homes and foster care agencies
Providing internship opportunities to high school and college students
Funding college tuition and living expenses via our Emergency Displacement Fund
Creating virtual programming and providing aid in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
Advocating for a moratorium on aging out of foster care during the pandemic
Delivering holiday meals, gifts, and clothing to youth in need

2019 was our first year of operation. Since we had not begun our youth programming yet, all money raised went directly toward our Holiday Toiletry drive, to provide youth with essentials during the winter season.
In 2020 we raised nearly 10x the funds for foster youth compared to 2019. This money not only went toward providing free educational seminars and webinars for those in foster care, it also helped youth with rent/small bills and provided warm winter clothing. To read more about our fundraising and breakdown visit our website here.
Please note, that programming costs go directly toward our free educational webinars and seminars for foster youth.
In 2021 we aim to raise $100,000 through grants, donations, fundraisers, and our weekly community classes—but we need you! With these funds we plan to build out our team with more experienced facilitators (therapists, project manager, fundraising manager, office admin, computer science, photographer, fashion stylist, realtor for home stabilization, personal hygiene facilitator, communication + marketing, case manager), buy software and computers for our youth, establish a physical office space, and replenish our Emergency Displacement Fund for youth in crisis.
